After the language course, Lena had actually wanted to go straight home, but when she came out of the subway, it suddenly began to rain heavily.
She did not have an umbrella with her and therefore quickly ran into a small bookshop on the corner so she could wait there for a few minutes.
While the rain beat against the windows, she looked at the shelves and discovered a simple blue notebook between travel texts and calendars.
Because lately she had often written new words on loose slips of paper, she decided to buy the notebook and finally organize her notes better.
At the register, the saleswoman said with a smile that on days like that the weather brought many people briefly into the shop, even if at first they had not wanted to buy anything.
When Lena went back outside later, the rain had already grown weaker, and she had the feeling that a small disruption had still turned into a useful evening.
