After class ended, Sora was going to take the bus to the library, but as soon as she got off at the stop, it suddenly started raining hard.
She had an umbrella, but the wind was strong, so her bag and sleeves got a little wet, and because of that she decided to shake off her clothes and catch her breath at the entrance first.
After going inside, she avoided the crowded seats, chose a quiet seat by the window, and began rewriting the vocabulary she had learned that day.
At first she felt disappointed that the bus delay had slowed her down, but instead she began to think that thanks to it she could study one more hour without rushing home.
While the rain kept tapping on the window, Sora separately organized the expressions that had been difficult in reading practice and wrote down a few short example sentences as well.
By the time she was ready to go home, the rain had weakened too, and she had come to believe a little more that even if a plan changes, the day does not necessarily become worse.
Grammar in context
These are the two patterns doing the most work in this lesson. Learn them as reusable sentence frames, not as isolated rules.
...자마자
Use 자마자 to show that one event happens immediately after another.
...기로 하다
기로 하다 marks a decision the speaker makes after considering what to do.

Review
Story check: What is Sora trying to do in this lesson, and what detail changes the situation?
Vocabulary check: Find 도서관, 비, 공책, and 창가 자리 in the story text again. Explain what each word is doing in its sentence.
Retell: Retell the scene in two or three sentences using 도서관 and 비. Then add one sentence about why the ending matters for Sora.
